Hello, everyone! My name is Philip, but my friends call me P. I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey and what I do at KRING as a Growth Marketer and Experimentation & Validation Expert.

What Does My Role Entail?

In a nutshell, I run experiments on various projects at KRING. Imagine you have a groundbreaking startup idea and you’re eager to find out if it resonates with your target audience. That’s where I come in. I design experiments to validate these ideas, working with hypotheses and assumptions rather than relying on gut feelings. This methodical approach ensures that we base our decisions on real data rather than ideas floating in “thoughtland.”

Accelerating Startup Growth

Beyond experimentation, I also serve as a Marketing Lead for startups from our venture studio. My goal is to accelerate their growth while maintaining the agility and efficiency they enjoyed during their early stages. Keeping startups lean and fast is crucial to their success, and I’m passionate about driving this process.

A Recent Project: Menopause Health

Recently, I’ve been deeply involved in our menopause project. It’s been incredibly rewarding to dive into the women’s health space, collaborate with potential co-founders, corporates, and partners, and see a product come to life. With a strict focus on validation, we’ve made significant progress in a relatively short time. This project exemplifies how thorough validation can quickly transform an idea into a viable product. We are always looking for collaborators, so please reach out to me or one of my amazing colleagues if you’re interested.

Being in Love with the Problem, Not the Solution

My journey into growth marketing and validation started long before KRING. In 2011, I co-founded a sustainable clothing company that produces garments from recycled materials. By the time I was 27, we had sold over 100,000 pieces. Building our own factory, selling globally, and partnering with some of the greatest musicians and brands of our time wasn’t easy, but it was incredibly fulfilling. This experience taught me the importance of falling in love with the problem rather than the solution, and I also used that a lot when I was CMO for TECHBBQ.

I believe the biggest failures come when you’re too fixated on your initial idea because we’re all biased, thinking our ideas are fantastic. At KRING, we are passionate about the problems we tackle, which drives real change.

Outside of work!

One of my favourite pastimes is engaging in what my sister and I call a “music producer battle.” It’s a music game we came up with where we each select three music producers we admire, play three tracks from each, and then dive into an in-depth discussion about the nuances of the songs, from the bounce and mixing to the hooks. Moreover, rather than watching Netflix after dinner, my girlfriend picks up her bass, and we create music together. It’s a fantastic way to bond without screens. Besides music, I also meditate and enjoy reading books on stoicism, mindfulness, and business.

Conclusion

In summary, my role at KRING revolves around validating ideas through structured experimentation and accelerating the growth of startups. My entrepreneurial background has shaped my passion for startup building, problem-solving and sustainability, and I bring this mindset to every project I tackle.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about my journey and my work at KRING. If you have any questions or would like to connect, feel free to reach out!
