Early-stage startups

Early-stage startups must have strong synergies with the KRING portfolio, industry focus, mindset and values, along with an ability to adapt our proven venture-building methodology

Investment Strategy & Strategic fit with KRING

Sector Focus

At KRING we primarily work with:

  • SDG3: Good Health and Well-Being: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
  • SDG7: Affordable and Clean Energy: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy.

In addition, we prefer to work with startups that operate in B2B2C and/or B2C markets (or has the potential to do so). Namely, we focus on solving real end-user problems, with high level of value-add and consumer demand, either directly or via corporate partnerships.

Hence, for us to be able to consider your startup for investment, please consider how your startup fits within our investment strategy.

Stage Focus

We primarily invest in Pre-seed rounds, but will occasionally consider Seed rounds if the match is right. Namely, we believe this spectrum is where we can create the strongest synergies and mutual value creation.

Geography

We only invest in ideas and startups based in Denmark

Venture Studio Synergies

We need to see that KRING’s Venture Studio can create significant value to your startup (other than capital), and that you/your startup can bring additional synergies and value to our Venture Studio (i.e. new knowledge synergetic to our focus, additional capabilities or a clear way to explore a strategic area).

Current Ownership and Cap Table

We look for startups with a clean cap table. We want to be “co-founders” alongside the existing Founders.

You must be willing to accept an ownership for KRING Speedbooting 2022 of 25% – 50% depending on stage and valuation.

What KRING brings to you?

KRING is an institutional co-founder with 18 years of experience building digital ventures. Our venture building approach and core USPs mitigate the most common causes of failures for start-ups:

Product/market fit and GTM strategy

  • We de-risk the venture significantly through methodology and idea validation. Our structured Speedbooting ® methodology with pretotyping enables validation of business models and GTM strategies

Network and Partnerships

  • We bring resources and expertise as well as access to corporate partners. KRINGs valuable network of corporates and advisors allows for improved business model and go-to-market strategy, innovation, and execution

Team and HR

  • We help fill team gaps (co-founders, early employees).

Fundraising

  • We do multi-round financing so you can focus on operating. As co-founder and investor, we support fundraising efforts through an extensive network of investors and our own fund

In addition, we de-risk your personal finances:

  • We cover incubation costs of experimentation/venture building team (non-convertible loan)
  • You earn a start-up salary (in line with market)
  • You keep a substantial part of your cap table (depending on stage, IP, etc.)
What does our current Early-stage Founders say about building with us?

Jane Kudsk, Co-Founder in Triba Health

I’m looking forward to have a team around me and no longer be a solo-entrepreneur together with all the strong capabilities of KRING and the support to build something really big and meaningful. See interview with Jane here (in Danish)

        Idea-stage Founders

We love to partner with visionary individuals with an exciting idea they want to bring to market.
